Description
|
Cathepsin X, also known as Cathepsin Z and P, is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase and member of the peptidase C1 family. It exhibits both carboxy-monopeptidase and carboxy-dipeptidase activities. While some cathepsins are expressed in various tissue, cathepsin X is restricted to immune cells, predominantly monocytes, macrophages and dendritic cells. The gene for cathepsin X is expressed in several cancer cell lines and primary tumors.
Recombinant Human Cathepsin X/Z/P produced in CHO cells is a polypeptide chain containing 293 amino acids. A fully biologically active molecule, rhCathepsin X/Z/P has a molecular mass of 33 kDa analyzed by reducing SDS-PAGE and is obtained by chromatographic techniques at Pepmic.
