Description   Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 2 (CXCL2) is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family that is also called macrophage inflammatory protein 2-alpha (MIP2-alpha), Growth-regulated protein beta (Gro-beta) and Gro oncogene-2 (Gro-2). CXCL2 is 90% identical in amino acid sequence to a related chemokine, CXCL1. CXCL2 is secreted by monocytes and macrophages and is chemotactic for polymorphonuclear leukocytes and hematopoietic stem cells. CXCL2 can signal through the CXCR2 receptor. Recombinant mouse MIP-2/CXCL2 produced in E.coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 73 amino acids. A fully biologically active molecule, rmMIP-2/CXCL2 has a molecular mass of 8 kDa analyzed by reducing SDS-PAGE and is obtained by chromatographic techniques at Pepmic.
Molecular Weight   8.0 kDa, observed by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Purity   > 95% as analyzed by SDS-PAGE.
Storage   Lyophilized recombinant mouse MIP-2/CXCL2 remains stable up to 6 months at -80°C from date of receipt. Upon reconstitution, mouse MIP-2/CXCL2 should be stable up to 1 week at 4°C or up to 2 months at -20°C.
