Description

Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 21 (CCL21) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. This chemokine is also known as 6Ckine, exodus-2, and secondary lymphoid-tissue chemokine (SLC). CCL21 contains four conserved cysteines characteristic of ?chemokines plus two additional cysteines in an unusually long carboxyl-terminal domain. It is expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells and the spleen. CCL21 chemoattracts T and B lymphocytes and inhibits hematopoiesis. It can signal through the CCR7 receptor.
Recombinant rat 6Ckine/CCL21 produced in CHO cells is a polypeptide chain containing 120 amino acids. A fully biologically active molecule, rr6Ckine/CCL21 has a molecular mass of 12 kDa analyzed by reducing SDS-PAGE and is obtained by chromatographic techniques at Pepmic.

Storage
|
Lyophilized recombinant Rat 6Ckine/CCL21 remains stable up to 6 months at -80°C from date of receipt. Upon reconstitution, Rat 6Ckine/CCL21 should be stable up to 1 week at 4°C or up to 3 months at -20°C. For long term storage, it is recommended that a carrier protein (eg. 0.1% BSA) be added. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
