Description   Mucosae-associated Epithelial Chemokine (MEC)/CCL28 (CC chemokine ligand 28) is a secreted CC chemokine expressed primarily by epithelial cells of the bronchioles, salivary gland, mammary gland and colon. MEC signals through the CCR10 receptor and chemoattracts resting CD4, CD8 T-cells and eosinophils. MEC contains six cysteines including the four highly conserved cysteine residues present in CC chemokines.
Molecular Weight   Approximately 13.1 kDa, a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 116 amino acids.
Purity   > 96 % by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
Storage   This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2-8 °C, but should be kept at -20 °C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to one week at 2-8 °C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20 °C to -70 °C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
