Description

Macrophage inflammatory protein 4 (MIP-4 or C-C motif chemokine 18) is a cytokine that attracts lymphocytes but not monocytes or granulocytes. This cytokine is involved in B-cell migration into B-cell follicles in lymph nodes and attracts na飗e T-lymphocytes toward dendritic cells. MIP-4 activates mactrophages in lymph nodes, has chemotactic activity for na飗e T-cells, CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells, and therefore plays roles in both humoral and cell-mediated immunity responses. Recombinant Human Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-4 produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 69 amino acids with a MW of 7,813 Da.
