Description   Neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) is an important member of the nerve growth factor (NGF) family of proteins behind BDNF and NGF. It is thought to promote the survival or differentiation of existing and new neurons in the central nervous system and synapses. These functions are thought to be communicated by TrkC, a receptor tryrosine kinase thought induce NT-3-specific signaling. In addition, NT-3 is thought to also bind TrkB and low affinity nerve growth factor receptor (LNGFR). Human NT-3 is produced in E.coli. Recombinant mouse IL-3 is a non-glycosylated protein, containing 135 amino acids, with a molecular weight of 15.1 kDa.
Molecular Weight   15100 Da
Purity   Purity > 95% as determined by RP-HPLC and reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE. Protein Content determined by UV spectroscopy at 280 nm and analysis by RP-HPLC calibrated against a known standard. Quantitation on SDS-PAGE against a known standard.
Storage   Store at -20°C. Product is guaranteed one year from the date of shipment. Following reconstitution, store at -20°C. We recommend to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) for long term storage.
