Multiple Antigenic Peptides
Multiple antigen peptide application is one potent way to produce high-titer anti-peptide antibodies and synthetic peptide vaccines. This system utilizes the
-amino groups of lysine to form a backbone to which multiple peptide chains can be attached. Depending on the number of lysine tiers, different numbers of peptide branches can be synthesized. This eliminates the need to conjugate the antigen to a protein carrier.
The synthesis of MAP can be problematic, as the strict spacing between each of the eight branches might lead to aggregation of the peptides on the resin. This could result in low coupling yields and peptide deletions. Pepmic has developed a synthesis strategy for MAPs to overcome these issues, and has over the years supplied MAPs to a multitude of customers.
